Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver was by far one of the top musicians who was a symbol of Colorado. Denver was a member of the Hall of Fame as its first member in 2011. Denver is now the embodiment of Colorado for everyone around the world. On my trips, I've met people from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell people you're from Colorado the first words they'll say is Oh John Denver. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career in folk groups, was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff wrote the tune with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear an early version and knew the song would be a top 10 hit. After performing to an excited audience in Washington D.C., the performer recorded the track.
